Reverse berth main featues:
NEVER ANTIFOUL AGAIN!
The Sea Pen reverse berth unit is ideally suited for shaft drive boats, catamarans and deep keel yachts with a waterline length from 6m and up to 30m (100ft). It allows you to reverse your boat into a berth and drive out. This can be very useful in marinas.
Sea Pen technology always keeps the boat at water level and is an easy and safe way of mooring your boat dry. Importantly you can step on and off your boat at any time when it's moored in a Sea Pen.
Your boat will be kept in pristine condition and perform like brand new every time you take it out.
How does it work?
The operations of your Sea Pen are controlled from a key operated control box which normally sits on your dock.
There is also the option to upgrade this control box to include a remote (similar to a garage door) or SMS text facility from your mobile phone.
LOWER
The standard control box is key operated. To lower your Sea Pen simply turn your key to lower. The frame of the Sea Pen will sink below the water and will be held in place at a predetermined depth by the floats (around 10-15mins) flooding the Sea Pen with water.
The skin and rope mat will fall away from the hull of the boat as the Sea Pen is flooded with water and will be well clear of the running gear of the boat. Within 10 - 15 minutes you are then able to exit the Sea Pen either forwards or backwards.
The frame of the Sea Pen will catch you on your return making mooring your boat very easy regardless of the wind speed or direction. You'll never be blown off your dock again!
RAISE
To raise your Sea Pen simply select raise on your control box using your key .
The frame of the Sea Pen will rise up around your boat (around 10 - 15mins)and form an isolated pool that the boat is floating in.
DRAIN
Simply select drain on your control box. Your automatic bilge pump will drain all the water out. The bilge pump has a sensor which will switch off automatically when the Sea Pen is dry. It turns on and off automatically as it detects water.
As the drain pump is automatic you can leave your boat as soon as you have selected drain on your control box – the Sea Pen will do the rest.
As the water is pumped out, the skin and internal rope mat slowly shrink-wrap around the hull and running gear of your boat. The internal woven rope mat is crucial to the boat being dry. It creates a barrier between the hull of the boat and the outside skin of the pen allowing water to drain down into the centre bilge cavity of the pen and creating an air pocket that the boat is floating on. Your boat is now completely dry ... floating on a layer of air! Your bilge pump will turn on and off automatically whenever water is detected.
OPTIONS
The standard control box can be upgraded with a Remote control and SMS option.
This option gives you the ability to control the functions of your Sea Pen using either the text facility from your mobile phone or your remote control (similar to your garage door).
This feature is very useful for boat owners who take their boats out for extended periods of time and would like to raise their Sea Pen from the boat. There is also a service mode for easy diagnosis of service issues by our techs.
Did you know?
The frame of the Sea Pen is built using 250mm diameter HDPE pipe which is very robust and buoyant. You are able to walk on the frame and have complete walk around access to every side of your vessel. This allows for easy cleaning and inspection to all areas of your boat.
Shaft, IPS or POD drive boats, catamarans and deep keel yachts are all able to utilize the nose in/standard Sea Pen. Common brands of boats currently utilizing Sea Pen technology include Searay, Regal, Riviera, Maritimo, Kevlacat, Seaquest, Powercat and many others.
